I am fortunate to work in a semi rural area, with a mix of office buildings, grassy fields and trickling streams. I also have an hour for lunch so I take advantage of the time and go for lunchtime walkabouts.
This area is the perfect spot for this and I enjoy myself as much as one could. I am surprised to be the only one out doing this… but here I am…alone with my thoughts…how they do wander and so do I…
It is so peaceful and it has been warm and breezy lately. I use this time not only for exercise but for quiet contemplation and nature appreciation. There are many birds around and their songs inspire me. I see ducks from time to time and even a pair of geese (on the one day I forgot my camera)
There is traffic but it is light and the drivers are courteous. Nothing much happens out here. I heard this little burg of Beaverton is the safest place in all of Oregon…I can vouch for that.
I am very lucky to have such a place to spend my lunchtime.

What a wonderful benefit to working in the boonies. The photos are great. I am glad you take the time to leave cubicle land and walk in the real world. Keeps one sane!
hey Janet, It’s all I can do to keep sane…haha 😉 sorry it’s taken me so long to respond…in a rut…coming out of it. I’ve been taking a break from online. The cubicle land is getting to me…
Yes, it really is quite surreal to live in the cube and have to pretend that what someone else wants you to do is important and has meaning. Keep the creative fires stoked-that will sustain and ground you in the midst of the unreal-ness of the work world. You WILL find a job with meaning, one that does not attempt to split your soul from your bodyA,
Indulging in reminiscene.I do that sometimes too,it’s good for the mind 🙂
