“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
~Buddha~
Multiple Candles at The Grotto: The Prayers of the many shining the light for those in the dark. It is a touching scene; on many of the candles are written specific prayers for loved ones asking for health and happiness.
“If it were not for hopes, the heart would break.”
Multiple stars at Clackamas Mall: The place of a recent shooting just before Christmas where a gunman killed two good people then turned the gun on himself. Many stars now decorate the place where the tragedy occurred. People have written their sympathies and condolences in an effort to get beyond this senselessness. It too is a touching scene that for me hits too close to home.
“Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”
Multiple White Daisies reach up to happy blue skies: Harbingers of bright optimism that remind me that the warm days of summer that are just around the corner. To me they are a symbol of hope and of happy dreams coming true.
The Multitude: There are over six billion souls on this beautiful planet of ours and although each one of us is special and unique, we are more alike than different. We are the faces of humanity and we all have hopes and dreams for the future. This is our collective right and need…at times of darkness we need each other all the more. We are all connected. Let us reach out to each other into this darkness to reassure and comfort. Those with a light shine the way out of the darkness for those who cannot find the way. This I believe more and more as time goes by…
“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

Powerful photos, both the candles and the stars, with quotes to match. The first candle shot particularly caught my breath. Beautifully done, my friend!
Thanks Janet. I hope I didn’t come across as too sappy but I go with my heart and there it is. I truly appreciate your kindness!
