BIG ideas have been hatched under the boughs of GREAT trees.
Trees Make a Big Impact on our Planet.
- Two-thirds of all plant and animal species on Earth are found in Forest Habitats.
- A single tree produces approximately 260 pounds of oxygen per year. That means
two mature trees can supply enough oxygen annually to support a family of four. - Tree roots hold soil together and keeps the nutrient rich topsoil in place for new plants to grow in. When trees are felled, the exposed topsoil washes away with rain in a process known as erosion.
- Over the course its life, a single tree can absorb one ton of carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas that is a BIG contributor to global warming.

Those are some spectacular trees. Having the people in the photo really shows how enormous they are. Where do these wonderful trees live?
Hi Janet: Those wonderful trees live not to far away…One is from The Grotto (big surprise) and the other is from a park atop a extinct volcano called Mt. Tabor, both places are very close (within a mile or so) Lots of big trees here, one of the reasons I love to live here.
I adore the trees & the pictures.
Peace & cheers!
Thanks gita4elamats! Peace and Cheers back at ya! 🙂
Magnificent giants – love the pictures. 😀 We have a lot of trees near us, but they’re much smaller!
Thanks Cathy: One of the advantages of living here: Big trees. Although your’s are smaller, I’m sure they are nice. 🙂
